Mommy Makeovers Aren’t Just for Mommies

Young women laughing and discussing a mommy makeover procedure

Our bodies change over time, sometimes as a result of pregnancy and sometimes due to aging, weight fluctuations, and other ups and downs. The mommy makeover was originally designed for women who wished to get their pre-pregnancy bodies back. Today, women (and men!) of all backgrounds can enjoy the benefits of a mommy makeover at my Houston practice. Cost, included procedures, and more can be customized to meet many unique needs.

The mommy makeover is one of my favorite procedures to perform because it offers such extensive corrections without requiring additional recovery time. That’s a benefit just about everyone can appreciate.

In this blog post, I’d like to take a closer look at why the mommy makeover may be a worthwhile choice for more than just mommies.

What is a mommy makeover?

A mommy makeover is a combination of procedures that are used to help slim, lift, and contour the body. The surgery got its name because it tackles many of the issues women commonly have after pregnancy. While the procedures that can be included are customizable, people typically opt for a combination of breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and liposuction.

Nonsurgical treatments can play a role in a mommy makeover as well. For women whose intimate areas are affected by childbirth, effective nonsurgical options include ThermiVa® and AVIVA by InMode, a new nonsurgical labiaplasty approach. Other nonsurgical options include injectable dermal fillers and neurotoxins that smooth away wrinkles and fine lines.

Who can benefit from this procedure?

While women who have had children are the traditional candidates for mommy makeover procedures, anyone who has experienced dramatic body changes (such as significant weight gain or loss) can benefit.

Ideal patients are those who want to improve several areas of their bodies, and they’ve been unable to correct those areas with a healthy lifestyle alone. They should be close to their goal weight and prepared to take the necessary time off to recover.

While a mommy makeover won’t affect your ability to have children, most people choose to wait until they’re finished having kids. Pregnancy can cause abdominal stretching and weight gain that can alter mommy makeover results.

What is a “daddy do-over?”

Women aren’t the only ones whose bodies can change with age. The “daddy do-over” can help men lose unwanted fat, tone the body, and remove loose, sagging skin. Liposuction, tummy tuck, male breast reduction, and injectables are popular choices, but the procedure can also include other male body contouring treatments as needed.

How much does a mommy makeover cost?

The price of a mommy makeover starts at $17,000 and goes up from there, depending on the areas of concern and what kinds of procedures that are needed. At my practice, we offer 3 different tiers of options so you can find the right approach for your needs and your budget. The makeovers range from only nonsurgical corrections to surgical full-body transformations.
