Do you avoid wearing shorts because you want to conceal the dimpled skin on your thighs caused by cellulite? Up to 85% of women develop cellulite, and it’s a safe bet that most of them have searched for an elusive solution to the frustrating and stubborn condition. The solution for you could be Avéli, a minimally invasive treatment introduced in 2022.

What Sets Avéli Apart From Other Cellulite Treatments?

Two words can answer this question: Precision and effectiveness. The FDA-cleared treatment is unlike any other cellulite treatment, allowing surgeons to manually target and release the fibrous bands that pull down on the skin and cause cellulite’s cottage cheese appearance—all while leaving other bands intact.

Why is this important? Because the majority of these fibrous bands, called septa, are healthy and help keep the skin firm and smooth. However, some of these cord-like bands thicken and tighten, anchoring the underside of the skin to the muscle below. During an Avéli procedure, the provider inserts a thin, cannula-like rod through tiny incisions. The rod has a retractable hook and blade, and there is a pinpoint light at the tip that the surgeon can see through the skin. When it dims, providers know the device is too deep, and they adjust to target shallow septa.

Additionally, Avéli provides real-time confirmation that the targeted bands have been broken because doctors can feel them release.

Avéli’s effectiveness can be seen soon after the procedure. In one study, 80% of participants’ treatment area was either very much improved or much improved 3 months after Avéli. You can also see the results in our gallery of before-and-after photos.
