Curious About Kybella?

Camille Cash, M.D.

Do you look in the mirror and focus on the excess fat, or “double chin,” in your lower face? This is a cosmetic concern that affects many men and women, and this area of the body is difficult to target with diet and exercise. For patients who are seeking a non-surgical remedy to lift and improve their chin contours, Camille Cash M.D. is proud to offer Kybella® injectable treatments at both of our conveniently located Houston offices.

What Causes Submental Fullness (aka…a “double chin”)?

Submental fullness, or excess fat underneath the chin, can be caused by a variety of factors such as weight gain, genetics, and the natural aging process. In a recent survey by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, almost 70 percent of men and women reported feeling dissatisfaction with their submental fullness. Kybella® is approved by the FDA for the non-surgical correction of moderate to severe submental fullness.

What is Kybella®?

Kybella® is derived from deoxycholic acid, which is found in the body and aids in the absorption and breakdown of dietary fat. When it is injected into the fatty tissues underneath the chin, Kybella® permanently disables fat cells from accumulating or storing fat, which leads to lifted contours under the chin and a more appealing facial profile.

Some of the main features of Kybella® are:

  • Visible results after two to four sessions for most patients
  • Fast treatments that are easy to fit into a busy schedule
  • Zero downtime
  • Minimal side effects
  • High rate of patient satisfaction

What Can I Expect After Treatment?

Slight redness, bruising, and swelling can occur at injection sites and should subside within a day or so. Depending on your condition, you should begin to notice visible results after anywhere from two to four sessions, and these treatments can be administered without any disruption to normal activities. A lifestyle of healthy diet and exercise can help add longevity to your results, as weight gain can potentially reverse your improved chin contours.

Results may vary, and during your consultation, Dr. Cash and her associates will evaluate several factors such as your health, medical history, aesthetic goals, and treatment expectations to help you determine if Kybella® is right for you.  To view before and after photos of our Kybella patients, click here.

I am only now reading this communication due to other pressing medical needs I had to have done. Question: When will you host another event on Kybella and what is the total costs of the treatment – how many vials are needed for one treatment? Thank you.

    • Dr. Camille Cash says:

Great questions! The amount of Kybella needed for each treatment varies depending on the amount of fullness a patient has below their chin. On average 2 vials are used during each of our patients’ three treatments. We would be happy to have you in for a complimentary consultation with our expert injector Marty Knesek R.N. to discuss the procedure in detail! To schedule, simply call our office at 713-571-0600. We look forward to hearing from you!

To connect with the office to discuss options, pricing, and scheduling, simply call us at 713-571-0600. Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you!
