A skin test must be administered 4 weeks prior to treatment to screen for allergy to bovine collagen.
- CosmoPlast®: CosmoPlast is an FDA-approved wrinkle filler made from natural human collagen. Because the product is derived from purified dermal tissue grown in laboratory conditions, there's no need for testing prior to use.
- Juvéderm™, Perlane® and Restylane®: These three popular wrinkle fillers are based on non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA). Injected under the skin's surface, they provide both a support structure to smooth wrinkles and they attract moisture molecules and hydrate the skin.
