How do you choose the size of breast implants?
Deciding what size of breast implants will accomplish your aesthetic goals is exciting—and a bit nerve-wracking. That's why choosing an experienced surgeon like Dr. Cash is so important. Once you tell her what you'd like to change about your breasts, she can help guide your decision. Bringing "wish" photos showing women with the size of breasts you want is helpful. We also have patients try on implant sizers.
Dr. Cash's breast augmentation patients typically feel well enough to return to work or school within a few days or a week of the procedure. Having implants placed under the muscle may extend the recovery time by a couple of days. Dr. Cash provides detailed post-op instructions that enhance your recovery if closely followed.
How long is recovery after breast augmentation surgery?
Even though you may read or hear that you should replace implants every 10 years, that "rule of thumb" is misleading. If you're happy with how your breasts look and there is nothing wrong with the implants, there is no need for revision surgery. Breast implants are not designed to last forever, though, and most patients at some point consider replacing or removing their implants.
How long do breast implants last?
Breast augmentation doesn't usually affect a woman's ability to breastfeed. However, it's important to inform Dr. Cash of your plans because she'll make incisions that won't involve the nipple.
Can I breastfeed after getting breast implants?
A small percentage of patients may experience changes in nipple sensation after the procedure. The sensation typically returns, but a very small number of women lose the sensation permanently.
